Ethos & Values

Our Vision Statement

‘Let your light shine’

As a school community we take inspiration from the candle that we light at the start of every collective worship. We also think about how the school is a beacon of light within the community and that through great education and guidance we are lighting the pathway in life and the light of God’s love.

Our Bible Verse:

Matthew 5:14 – 16

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

As a school community we chose this verse as it links closely with our vision and describes that all children have a talent whatever their learning ability and that this should always be promoted, supported and celebrated.

Our Christian Values

L – Love;  friendship, love of God, love of learning, service to others

I – Integrity;  responsibility, honesty, maturity, respect

G – Grit;  determination, perseverance

H – Hope; aspiration, faith

T – Trust; in ourselves, the school and in God

We chose the word LIGHT so that the children easily remember this by pointing to five fingers on their hand.  We have ‘Shine Jesus  Shine’ as our school song; a real favourite with all the children which supports our ethos and values.

‘Let your Light Shine’

Every day is an open day at Lambourn Church of England Primary School.  I welcome and encourage you to book your personal tour to visit our fantastic school.  I would be delighted to show you and your family how your children are at the centre of everything that we do in our rural school setting.  Our dedicated staff and smaller class sizes enhance engagement, participation and wellbeing to improve outcomes for all.  I look forward to sharing with you our love of learning.
